Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone use homeopathy?
Yes - I adjust your dose of homeopathic remedy, according to your strength or frailty, using high doses to strong robust individuals and low doses to those weakened by illness or drugs.

Can young children have treatment?
Children respond very quickly to homeopathy and it is safe to use from birth. The remedy is chosen by observing your baby or child, at home and then during the consultation.

Can I still take my doctor's medicine?
Of course - you must never alter your medication without talking to the clinician who prescribed it.

Does my doctor's medicine stop homeopathy working?
Taking steroids, anti-depressants, anti-psychotic medicine, and multi-prescriptions can weaken a person and prevent them reacting as easily to homeopathy, but generally many people benefit from homeopathy despite their orthodox medication.

How do I take a homeopathic remedy?
Usually a small tablet, with a sugary taste, is tipped into your mouth and allowed to dissolve under your tongue. It is best to minimally touch the tablet and take it in a clean mouth - avoiding food, drink or cleaning your teeth before and after taking it, as strong tastes and odours can stop the remedy working well.

How long does a consultation last?
Your first visit takes 1 to 1½ hours as we need to discuss fully how you are feeling, your medical history and what stresses might have contributed to your present state. A subsequent visit is 30 to 45 minutes as you update me on changes to your health. Everyone is treated individually and the length of a session depends of you and your health.

How often should I come for treatment?
Monthly treatments provide a good result, as it is easy to remember your last appointment and how you have changed over the last 4 weeks. However as your health improves anything from 6 weeks to 3 months may suit you. It really depends on how your health is affected and whether you can function well in your daily life.

When does it start working?
Sometimes you may immediately feel a change in your energy and perception. Other times there is a gentle change over a period of a few weeks.

How does it work?
Gradually you feel stronger and more able to face life's stresses, and your symptoms are less troublesome, or have disappeared.

What happens if I don't get better?
We can look at reasons preventing your recovery, or continuing to make you ill. One person stopped drinking tea and her tinnitus went away, returning whenever she takes caffeine.

How long will I need treatment?
The length of your course of treatment depends on many factors including your vitality, how long you have been ill, your life stresses and your response to remedies.
